On Tuesday, the technician from Starhub came down to install the equipment for our newly applied Optic Fibre Broadband. We were chatting away as he was installing and testing the speed for us.
He is 58 years old and from what we know, he has a daughter who is 30 years old this year. It's just RANDOM conversation that we were on the topic of marriage with my dad. He was saying now at his stage of life, he understands why people at his age would wanna see their children to get married and have kids. It's almost like "Life is Complete" kind of feeling.
I was telling them my point of view that we dont just get married for the sake of getting married. If the person does not suits you and all, most likely would end up in divorce. Why take the risk? Mr Technician said "No one is perfect and you cannot prepare everything in advance in order to get marry. It is a risk that all of us have to take."
Dad agreed. He then continued "What's funny is that, some people can be so proud to be a gay and all? What's wrong with the people nowadays?"
Perhaps people in the olden days believe that it is very unglam to "divorce" if things do not go well. They are more tolerance towards each other as compared to the "new age" people, we are more self-centered.
It just sets me thinking that "Marriage is a Risk." I thought it should kinda be like.. the Right person at the Right place at the Right time with the Right feeling. Sounds almost impossible?
