Some employers like to ask weird or irrelevant questions to the job position that you applied for.
Let me share my experiences after going through n number of interviews.
The Personal Life Questions:
- Do you have a boyfriend/girlfriend?
- How long have you been with your boyfriend/girlfriend?
- Do you plan to get married?
- Do you have any plans for pregrancy? (that is IF you are married)
- What does your father/mother work as?
- Any siblings? How old are they?
- Do you smoke?
- Do you go partying?
- What do you usually do on weekends?
- What is your religion?
Superstitious Questions:
- Which year were you born in?
- What is your Zodic?
Make-You-Feel-Difficult-to-Answer
- Tell me, how hungry are you for success?
- What motivates/drives you?
- What makes you think that you are able to carry this position well?
- What makes you think that we will hire you?
I dont know how other people feel when they were shoot with the above questions but I feel it is ridiculous and sometimes discriminating especially the marriage or pregrancy part. Does it mean the chances of hiring becomes low if the person plans to have kids? I thought the government is trying very hard to encourage people to have kids and here, these stupid employers are asking people such questions? So by having kids is an obstruction to the job. Kids are troublesome. The employee has to take child-care leave if their child is sick because there is no one to help to look after. This in turn produce low productivity employee. It is also a waste of resources or cost to the company.
So? Women ponder about the idea of starting a family for fear of the stablity of their job. They would rather postpone their plans to start a family or rather not do it. Those who postpone to start a family may have problems having a child because of age. Those who rather not do it gain fufillment in their job by becoming the management. And usually these single ladies sitting at the top tend to have imbalance mindset about other people's "happiness". For example, when their staffs go home on the dot, etc.
Oh wait, people likes to hear good things. Perhaps employers like to hear candidates bullshitting about themselves or maybe they invite you for interview just to see how you look like and when they do not have the intention to hire you, they will try to put you down by asking the above
The feeling is like people shoving shits into your face and you die also have to swallow it.
